Strutt mounts and glovebox lock!
Discussion
Need to replace my daily barge and just found a great Jag, 1996, 4l sov in awesome condition with a service history file which is huge! Looks like a great deal but there is a weird knocking from the rear which I am guessing is the top strutt mount. Knowing nothing about such things, is that a major job?
Also, the seller seems to have lost the spare keys so he has the regular set which work fine and the remote works fine, but the main ignition key, which does open the doors, does not seem to unlock the glovebox. Is that normal?!
Beyond that, it has done 130k but every service has been done, every fault sorted and the place that has serviced it for the last four years say it is a good car. It's on at about 20-30% less than its worth I think so either I have stmbled across an awesome deal, or there is something very wrong, but calls to the gargae that maintained it seem to check out and all the documents look fine.
Cheers
