Not too up on XJS's but this one caught my eye as being potentially worth a bid. I cant quite work out why no one has put a bid on it. I know the later model years are a better bet but just how bad is an early XJS conmpared to a 90's facelift one?

Not worth a bid without seeing and inspecting, it could be anything.

But wheres the fun in that? Some people do the lottery others like to bet on the nags. I occasionaly like a flutter on a car.

Good point I suppose. I don't think anything of putting three figures on a bet. But if I was going to do that on casr it would have to be something that would probably cost less to rebuild if necessary such as an Opel Manta or a Capri 2.8.

Did you do it then?

I'm just reading the ad again. Bit strange he quotes it as a 5.4, not a 5.3. My XJS is a squeeze in my garage and not too easy to get into/out of. But it doesn't make me want to sell it!

Not yet. It will be a last minute thing if I do. Putting a bid on it now might encourage others to bid.

Nope. Looking at the listing for XJS's there are some better ones out there going for simmilar money. I like having service history which this one didnt have. They just seem ridcously cheap for the amount of metal you get and a coupe would really compliment my XKR rag top smile
