Hi
THinking about selling my December 02 XKR 4.2 Just under 70k miles, full history, with satnav, 20 inch wheels etc. I am confused on the price, they seem to go from about 11k for a really rough one through to 18k for the pick of the bunch. Mine's in good shape, but I understand the market is not the best with the credit crunch etc! About £15k about right??

I have noticed that prices are all over the place.. which doesn't help when pricing the car.

local dealer has a high mileage 03 plate XKR with brembos for £21K.. which of course has been on the forecourt for about 3months.

I think if you look at the prestige car mkt at the moment then the only people selling things are the people prepared to sell at a significant discount to where they percieve value to be. Its not a case of lower bids but a complete lack of buyers. If you dont need to sell then stick it in at 16 and see what happens, if you do need to sell then put it in at 14. One thing is for sure, the market is only going one way. Best of luck, i'm in a similar position.

Thanks Craig, kind of what I was thinking. Advertise for £13995? It's a lot of car for the money

Hi
I recently traded my 02 4.2 Coupe (115K miles) with sport seats, 20 detroits, handling pack for £11,000.
Dealer (not Jag dealer) now has it up for £12,500.
Obviously they are not the easiest cars to sell in the current climate.
Hope this gives you an idea.
James

no prestige cars are easy to sell at the moment, 996TT's trading below 30k, Maserati 4200's below 20k. That must have been a painful trade for you.

Cheapest I can find within 60 miles of London on Autotrader is about 15k. If I price at 14k surely it will fly away?!

there's a difference between the offer price & what people will pay though. If its offered at 15 and not selling then that price is academic.

Good point my friend - anyway, it's like houses at the moment, if the whole market has shifted down by 10pc, if you're trading up you're laughing

Hi Paul

Audi A8 3.0TDI 2005 in black.
I've had it remapped to 280ish BHP. Goes very well, 0-60 approx 7 secs (nothing like the "R" though!), but i am getting 40+ MPG. Incredible !
Also i am finding more toys and goodies on it every day.

Blimey, if prices keep going down like this I may have to get an R to go with my 8.

There are more toys than you can shake a stick at on the A8 James. A nice big family car eh, you and Vick got something to tell us about????

Nothing flies just now, but it does sound a sensible figure. Pictures?

Gulp. I'd like to hope you'd get more than that even in the current climate.

It's got to be worth 14 all day long, even dodgy non-R 4 litres are on Pistonheads for 10 or 11!

How about this one at 5k! I would like to hope for my own sake that this is a typo.

Blimey, if that's correct, I will be raiding my piggy bank. That surely can't be right.
