Thinking about changing the S Type for an 06 Sovereign, what should I be looking out for?

Have a read of Honest John's guide (Daily Telegraph) on the new XJ. There's a road test of the 2.7 diseasiel and a lot of info on the ally bodied XJ in the car by car breakdown.

Ok, so what is the right price for a 56 plate with 15k or an 07 with 10K?

There's no right price - any car is only worth what you are prepared to pay for it.

I've seen Jaguar prices collapse over the last 12 months or so, if you're serious go in with a low offer and see what happens.

If my garage was big enough, I`d have one !
I can`t complain about the 2.7d S type though, it fits

OK committed, pick it up at the beginning of November.
One of the first X358's 07 plate Sovereign with 10K miles.

The dealer suggested Supagard, I have heard mixed reports, anyone had direct experience?

Sounds a nice choice, but definately give the overpriced Supagard a miss unless your getting it for nowt, I`ve heard of some right horror stories of dealer applied sealants.
Theres plenty of far superior sealants on the market to do yourself or have applied for a fraction of the cost.

If it's Supagard as opposed to one of the other alternative products it won't do any harm, but in reality you would be much better a. getting it into a workshop, buying all the products from the tar remover and the clay bar through to the top seal, and spending a full weekend on it yourself, or b. paying one of the professional detailers to give it the once over.

There's nothing wrong with cleaning your own car plus its good for your soul when you come to meet St Peter.
