I want to get a set of engine bearings for my Jag V8. Aside from the dealer, please can anybody recommend a supplier who is cheap.

Thank you.

Gavin, seems we are answering each others questions here! My main dealer quoted 10.50 per conrod insert, BritishParts quoted 9.50 a pair, so about half the price. Didnt ask about mains, but think i might be soon!
Hope that helps

RacingGreen have a page dedicated to it if you google it. Seems they can supply oversize for some engines.

Gavin, picking up on your comment from the other
thread re' mains bearings on The AJ-V8 ?

Is this standard size big end bearings you're referring to, here ?
Or is it possible to have the crank reground with appropriate bearings,
on these?
Has anyone done it ?

Buying a new crank with standard bearings from Jaguar, was as far as
I knew only option, with a worn high mileage crank.
Does anyone know if this is no longer the case ?

Thanks, I'd be very interested to hear if anyone has another cheaper,
option as well .

Seems thats 3 of us with big end problems!
Does anyone know if it can be done with engine in situ, ie by taking out crossmember etc?

The only time I've done it, I had the engine
out anyway. So that doesn't really answer your question, sorry !

But, I'd certainly be trying to do it with the engine insitu from
below if it were at all feasible.

Mine is actually OK at present, I'm asking for future reference.
Hopefully, it'll stay that way for a while yet.

For me my engine is out and sitting on the garage floor. So while it is out I want to change the bearings. I am looking for standard size only.
