S Type 2.7D - High mileage
Discussion
Just part ex's a 3.0TiD V6 Saab 9-5 after covering 120k from new.
Car ran great until just over 100k with no out of the ordinary bills, when it needed a new fuel pump. Not a cheap job as it takes 10 hours labour before you have bought the pump and that's not cheap!
Just bought an 05 S type 2.7D with 30k on the clock, drives great, love it to bits.
Anyone experienced large bill associated with high mileage, ie fuel pump or similar?
Looking to go to 100k plus depending on how the car behaves.
John,
See my earlier post here...not the same model but reasonable stuff for you I think.

Mine went to 84K with no problems aside from a suspension bush & a heater water control valve.
Cambelts are at 150K & are around 3 hours labour, one for the cam the other for the HP pump, otherwise it's all standard servicing. The other thing I'd do is get the gearbox oil changed as in theory it's sealed for life & that is shortened by running dirty oil.
