xkr air bag warning

My XKR has started to flash the airbag warining light. Seems to happen when cold Light flashes 4 then 2 (or 2 then 4) then comes on full. If I switch off and come back to it no lamp. Weird...

Any ideas guys? (and gals)

Bit of a long shot maybe but you could try disconnecting the battery for a few mins and then reconnecting.

Make sure you have the radio code and know how to reprogramme it 'tho, and don't whatever you do close the boot with the battery disconnected

Somtimes this will clear odd fault messages, but obviously won't do so if there is actually a problem. If you get a message flash up when you're actually starting - especially if it only happens when the engine is stone cold - this may suggest the battery voltage is dropping enough to trigger a random message

Eeek.. Edited to add DON'T CLOSE THE BOOT WITH THE BATTERY DISCONNECTED!

Also check the battery is not on it's way out. Check the voltage, even a battery putting out 0.5v too low can cause gremlins in these cars.

Thanks for the suggestions, I checked the battery etc. No problem. It appears to be an airbag system fault. FDoes anyone know what the code might indicate ?
