Any recommendations, chaps, for insurers for a modern Jag, no convictions, no claims, no funnies, but the facility of being able to insure two cars would be good.

Stratstone Insurance were quite good when I was looking for some.

I'm with NUD, get what you pay for. Me, 2 rear enders (whoops, but not in the XKR!) and they dealt with both claims without me having to do anything.

I have both the S Type and 9-3 Aero Ragtop ( with declared re mapping, lowered suspension and up rated brakes) all with A Plan.

Great service, personel service ie not a large call ctr in India like most!

Having said all that, I have never needed to make a claim!

I actually found Lloyds TSB cheapest as a young XJR driver.... They're underwritten by Churchill. £520 all in at 22. Happy days. So don't rule out the more common companies!

If you are IAM, then IAM surety is worth a punt, I currently pay £320 full comp for XJR

Admiral multicar policy was cheapest by far for me to insure X308 XJR and Audi A2. Tesco are terrible with multicar, but I did get single car insurance of £400 at 21 on an X300 XJR by calling them and putting the excess up to £750 over the phone! Saved a couple of hundred quid and thankfully didn't have to claim.

Ususlly cover the JS fleet on the best quote from Money Supermarket. Doing it this way I've found you get an excellent rate for the first year then whoever you've chosen trys to screw you when it's renewal time so it's back online for another quote.

I've no loyalty to any company - Whoever offers the best deal gets my buisness.

XJ: Max NCD Swiftcover. Comprehensive + european £220
Pug GTI: Max NCD Sheilas Wheels. Comprehensive + european £195
Diseasiel van: Max NCD Yes Insurance. Third party + buisness + european £143

JS babies have also got good deals on thier hot hatches too.

Only thing I'd add is IMO it's essential to always pay for drivers legal protection on top of the policy. I've had two no-fault accidents and the solicitors you access under the cover have always done an excellent settlement deal.

I'm with Noirman and JS!

My insurance renewal is coming up and from what Norman says I could save a fortune with LV maybe. If Norman gets that great deal on his super-powered XK I reckon I could get a substantial reduction by going to market. I currently use SAGA...great cover but expensive. Perhaps you get what you pay for.

just done a search with 'go compare' for an x300 4.0 Sovereign best quote was £126.99 from MQ (motor quote)fully comp, £300 access, full NCB, limited milage 5000, I'm mid 40's. That's less than £130 for fully comp ins on a big 4.0 litre luxury saloon !!! I can't see me beating this quote, the next was AA at £204.
