If so could you maybe PM an Admin to act on my request to register?

I registered this morning (Saturday) but no validation email yet (I can only presume they manually vet apps) and the one email addy I can find that doesn't need a login to answer (rory6@hotmail.com) isn't answering. rolleyes

Some good info on there but registration leaves a bit to be desired so far.

thanks

it will register you eventually, but since the site was down for 3 weeks over xmas there seems to be no-one posting much.

Not sure about anyone else but I have not been able to access the forum for a few days. I keep getting a "critical error" message.

something strange is going on with that website. i've been a member for a long time (about 2 years) and had no issues whatsoever with registration (back then), not sure why that seems to be the problem for some of you guys. i also find the site very active, and the forum is split into subsection dealing with specific models, so it's relatively easy to find what you're looking for, and the people there are generally very helpful.

but after the recent outage over the christmas period, the site is now back, but it is behaving strangely. for the last week or so, i'm no longer able to access it from work (nothing to do with my work blocking it, it just comes up with some strange (database-related, i think) error message), but i CAN access it from home (just checked, it's working fine as i'm typing this).

i will post a thread there, asking the admin to check all your registration requests, and approve them, and also about these strange problem with accessing the website.

Ok, copied and pasted from a post by an admin there, regarding new activations:

"Please note that as we now manually activate new members, there will be no email sent which allows you to activate your new account as stated in the post above.

Just check back and attempt to log in with the user name and password you registered with.

Please allow us time to do this activation process as we are not here 24/7."

So, simply try to log on, it's possible your account was activated, but as you never get an email to tell you this, you wouldn't ever know.

I will post there saying that this is less than ideal, and perhaps they might want to send an email to the person when they've approved their registration.

Hi Vladman,

the problem is not that you do not get the account email- it's that when you log in, it says the account is not activated. If you could pass on that issue to the mods- Ta.

Thanks for that.
A bit cackchanded but if they're having problems then I guess whatever works.
It's also a bit odd that you have to log-in to get to mail an Admin.
Now that doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Thanks to all for the comments. smile
