Any info on best tuned torque available from the two variants and if any problems with std clutch / tranny

Who to go to and what mods to expect?

What mpg do people get on economy motorway cruise around 70 mph and overall?

I drove the 2.0d and was pleasantly surprised as to its get up and go (lag then boost mainly perhaps..) - did seem to really move from 70 to 90 though

I had the 2.0 diesel in my Mondeo, and as I understand it (I'm prepared to be told differently though) it's basically the same engine in the Jag.
Anyway, it was kicking out 130bhp originally in my car and I had it chipped upto 156bhp (claimed) and there was also an increase in torque.

I never had the claims checked out, but it was a lot quicker after it had been chipped and also the power seemed to be spread more evenly over the rev range...pulling well right upto the red line.

Hope that helps.

Give Paramount Performance a ring as they do remaps for either power or economy. I'm getting my 2.0d remapped for economy in the next couple of weeks.

I would be grateful if you could do some before and after economy checks, eg average overall and motorway cruising - perhaps time car fromm 50-70 or similar in same gear before and after tuning

Found Paramount expensive for most things - a knowledgable Moderator suggests Celtic - they are claiming over 300 ft lb torque and +50 bhp for 2.0d X Type! - Any feedback on these guys?

Thanks Norman. Yes Paramount do a before and after rolling road check. But, as I found with my XK8 after it's power remaps, the real improvements show more after a couple of weeks.

They don't have a rolling road, so can't test before and after. I've also heard they don't remap the ecu in situ.

All Racing Green diesel upgrades are mapped without removing the ecu.Its driving on the road that proves results, rolling roads can be made to read whatever you want.If you dont like the results after RGC have done the re-programme and youv'e done your test drive they will re-instate your original programme at no cost.

I know tat when Chris is working on Classic Jag engines he prefers to set them up on the road as you get different air flows on a rolling road, they've had problems balancing pressures across the carbs, particularly on a closing throttle.
