Sticking throttle X300

Car very much under used. Throttle now sticking but doesn't appear to be cable. Anyboby any ideas how to fix problem. Have been told to spray switch cleaner into throttle body. Believe butterfly maybe gummed up.Anybody any other ideas?

Was a common problem back in the day. There is a propper Jaguar mod with uprated return spring. But carb cleaner in the throttle body and a good clean out is usually enough. You can slacken the screws that attach the butterfly to the shaft too and then flick the throttle a few times to recentralise it. I used to find that helped.

Thanks for your help Tame Technician. Throttle body cleaned and burr removed from pivoting plate. Car now drives normally and doesn't have suicidal tendencies as before. Cheers
