fking great fun! Scary as sin! Balding 255's at the front is clearly not a good choice!

I couldn't stop in the works car park and nearly ended up in a ditch before half drifting in a space.

Am I right in thinking the "S" button increases throttle response or is that all in my head?

v8 + snow = No Go smile

The "s" button is for the increase in the revs through the gears

Yeah I knew it raised the RPM before change.

Throttle just felt more responsive... Suppose that would be unlikely given the lack of fly-by-wire. Must just of been the noise.

It was great fun.

So So true. The XK has been parked up for 10 days now. And daily transport is a vito van.
Doesnt do my image much good but its bloody good in the snow and it doesnt really matter if I scrape a wall in it.

Welcome Spring - Ive had enough of snow now!!

Oh come on. You're acting your age now soapbox

It's not that bad! Even with crap tyres on the front it was still better than my old mx5s/Mr2 tubby but to be fair they were death traps in the snow for various reasons. I do have the luxury of not having to be in work until 10am as well so it's quiet.

Heavy = more grip!, RWD = more controllable oversteer!... Well perhaps not...

On a more serious note my mate drives his racing engined TVR Cerb up to Aberdeen before they have chance to grit the roads properly. Now that's mental.

You want a nice light front wheel drive car with narrow tyres (preferably winter).Followed a little Clio around Dartmoor for some time on Sunday(was in the V6 Alfa 166) and it scooted up a hill that I barely got started on!

I've got the mrs micra 1.0 manual with 170mm width front tyres, very light as well and I do use that most days (mainly for the incredible mpg!). Only problem is I punctured the rear tyre when I picked up a nail hand braking into the drive... Serves me right I suppose.

My S-Type 4.2 V8 SE is just hopeless in the snow (well, at least the driver when in it is!). It stayed firmly put in the garage for 8 days recently.

My wife has a 12 year old Fiesta, front wheel drive etc, just great and chuckable. Been out and about lots, no probs. Brings back memories of my rally driving days from long ago!

No real issues driving my XJ8 in the snow. Just kept it plonked in 3rd or 2nd and plodded along. Hills were a tad challenging at times but other than that its been fine.
