I have been dying to see some reviews of the 2010 xkr, all I can find on the web is xfr reviews, anyone know of any 2010 xkr road tests? Here in the states the '07 to '09 cars beat factory performance specs by a wide margin, with the e-lsd and extra power the 2010 car must be a beast.

The March 2009 edition of Jaguar World has an introductory article and some pics on the XKR and XFR, and goes on to say that the April 2009 edition will have a full road test on both models. You may need to wait a little!

Driven.

The whole car package is absolutely outstanding. In pure performance terms the new headline grabbing 5.0L XKR, well it makes the 4.2 XKR seem sedate. It is ballistic.

Just got my Jaguar world, they say the new car will hit 60 in 4.6 Vs 4.9 for the old car. Now in the US every single test of the old car shows it hitting 60 between 4.1 to 4.4 sec. If this disparity between factory and real world testing continues, this thing might be in the 3.9 to 4.1 range.

Love your handle, in the aviation Biz myself, wish I had a 777. Actually never mind, I've got a 6 hour bottom, no more. Looking forward to your report.

Hi guys,

Spent the afternoon at the Jaguar driving experience at Gaydon and drove both the 5.0 XKR and 5.0 XFR. Both cars were real beasts, I can report significantly execeding the 155mph limiter in both cars and that was in the wind and rain we had today. Not sure what the quoted 0-100mph figures are but it felt in another league to my current 2002 4.2 XKR.

Took a couple of pictures despite the weather, I'll post when I get chance.

Cheers,
Graham

UK tends to quote 0-62, rather than 0-60, which might need another (albeit automatic) gear change. Also the US quite often test on quite high friction surfaces, such as drag strips, rather than the poor quality contrete of many of our proving grounds!

I suspect that the US mags also compete to see who can clock the fastest time in any given car.

Couple of pictures from the track experience (not many or that great as the weather was foul).

Still not sure about the new wheels on the XKR/XFR, XK ones (last picture) look ok though.

Cheers,
Graham

This months evo magazine has a good write up on the XFR and a smaller piece on the XKR.

I would imagine the target market wants things to look neat as opposed to purposeful. I wonder what percentage of new Jaguars will even lift the bonnet...

Agree, compare that to a Ferrari engine bay.

Can you pay to do this, like the MB experience?

I guess it keeps all the hot "dangerous" bits out of harms way and stops them being sued.

Not sure how I managed to get invited but received a letter through the post asking me to register. Maybe because I'd used Jaguar Customer Service previously and my details were added to their database or maybe due to buying through the dealer network a few years ago? Not sure.

I beleive there was also a number you could phone and ask to be considered. I know Jaguar are running the event today, tomorrow and Sunday however assume each day would now be full. Maybe worth a try though and perhaps you could be added to the list for future events!

See here for details

Regards,
Graham
