Hi, a friend who works on my XJR has replaced the engine in an XK8 (after timing failure on original engine) but it appears that there is no power to the injectors.. The fuses are all good as is the the crank sensor, there are sparks to all coils and there is fuel pressure. I assume he has checked the inertia switch but is there anything else to check? Thanks in advance for your help again!

When the accelerator pedal is pressed to the floor, this also cuts the fuel delivery,
might be a problem on that side of the system ,

the fuel cut off switch on an 8 is on the passenger side of dash which is behind the small panel, you need the door open, get him to try pressing the black rubber switch a few times,

might just be of help

good luck

The fuel cut off switch or Inertia Switch cuts power to the fuel pump when tripped, I don't think that explains the "no power to injectors". The fuel injection relay might be bad and if there is no power to any of the injectors, then the common ground wire back to the ECU could be at fault.

Is that normal? I don't have experience of a wide range of engine management systems but it seems typical that injectors, coils, lambda sensors and fuel pump are powered up 'en mass' while the engine is running and for a couple of seconds when it stops. I don't know whether your XJR is the same. For example it may be that it only powers up the injectors when it has a run signal. Hence the question - does your friend know how the power to the injectors behaves normally on that model?
