Cost of new 2.7D Sovereign is £50k, yours now I would expect for £40k (They have stopped making these cars now, pending re-tooling for the new XJ)
Tyres/tax and servicing for 150k 3 years is about £4k.
Cars value after 3yrs 150k miles. About £3k
So £40k + £4k = £44,000.
Lease £1200/mnth x 36mnths = £43,200
Will there's a surprise, seems to me to be spot on!
IMHO, these are superb cars and you won't have any issues with them. If you do that much mileage then it is a great place to spend your time. Funnily I have also just tested one of these 2.7 XJ's last weekend BUT I have also just returned from a day out driving the new all new 3.0 diesel XF - S. This is a far superior car. Has more space, front and rear and in the boot than the XJ. Rides beautifully on the 20inch wheels with its bang up to date with the suspension set up. (Just doesn't need air suspension!) Has a fabulous new 6 speed gearbox to lay down the huge power increase, up from 202BHP of the 2.7 XJ to 275BHP and all yours in top spec - Portfolio Editions for £44,000.
In would go straight back to your dealer and ask when they can get you in a 3.0D XF-S.
