AXR Supercharger whine

Morning all,

I am considering an XKR as a daily driver at some point in the future. The car will be a 2006 / 2007 model (current shape). How loud is the supercharger whine? Is it intrusive and likely to drive me up the wall?

Not really so bad--actually a nice smooth sound.

I agree, you will only notice it then you floor the throttle and then it's not obtrusive


But that is part of the joy of a XKR, also fir an aftermarket exhaust so you get the V8 burble

I actually wish it was more noticeable..Its very quiet. The car has an active exhaust system that makes it a bit louder under full throttle..The XKR is one car that could really do with a 'sport' button to stiffen it up and make it louder. Its almost too refined and laid back. Time for a sports exhaust for mine I reckon

Compared to the steel XKR which was noticeable, you don't hear it at all on the new aluminium XKR's.
