Essex to Edinburgh in one go.
One stop for lunch and a fuel top up and a steady 75-80 all the way.
28mpg and feeling virtually as fresh when we arrived as when we set off.

What a great car...why didn't I discover these jewels years ago?

Big Jags are great. You get out as fresh as when you got in. I had an XJ40 Sovereign 4.0 once - lovely car.

You could have done that in a 1.2 Fiat Punto and achieved 45mpg....

What's so great about that??

But that means a Jag 4.0 is 2.08 times more fuel efficient than a FIART Punto.
That's absolutely shameful on the part of the Ities.

That's a funny coincidence. If you move the decimal point two place it also shows you how much more comfortable and comforting the Jag is than the Punto.

Somebody - I forget who and in what context - once said about Jaguars..

"Some lucky people discover them fairly early on in their motoring life, other, less fortunate people spend several decades driving inferior cars before they buy one, but I really sympathise with the third and most unfortunate group of drivers who never experience just good they are at all"

Probrably an old road test.. but sums it up nicely for me smile

Would be, but I haven't seen her for 2 years and like you I have a Jag, so no big deal.
