Hello,
I am considering this car for Athens (Greece), where you have a mix of wide open highways, potholed roads, lack of grip and fast driving (i.e. no one respects the speed limit, but I do!).

My major consideration is an executive prestige car (unfortunately these things count down there) that does not look "me too" (so no 4x4 for example), suspensions that are sensible for the performance, a dependable package that will not let me down, and most importantly over the long term a very stiff chassis that will prevent vibrations.

Last but not least, I enjoy driving very much!!!

JAG

Added: I need the car by the 7th August which is the last day of car tax discount period, which means delivery end July.

Have you driven one? I have, it's fantastic, and I would think that you are well enough into the model cycle for any glitches to be sorted out. Get a test drive in an XFR and while you are at it try the XF 3.0 Diesel Premium Sport, and make sure it's in Sport Mode. Really.

Diesel is illegal in Athens due to antiquated pollution legislation. Actually the pollution legislation was 1 of the 1st but never updated.

I will have a test drive though!

Don't think you'll get one by August as there is a 2 month wait for them here as they are factory order only.

They are awesome and you will love the ride, although the 20 inch alloys may suffer from pothole damage if you are not careful.

I got confirmation today for a July delivery from Athens, yesterday for a July delivery from London (both for a LHD of course

Alloy size is not an option on the XFR

I would guarantee that you will love it, and that isn't a thing you could say of many cars, it has such power and agility it is like being in a beautifully finished rally car. You should be thinking seriously about colours, specificatios and options though. Dark metallics always seem to look good on the XF, and personally I would go with the burr walnut and the ivory leather. Let us know what you are considering.

XFR only comes with dark mesh aluminum or dark oak, both of which look stunning. Avoid burr walnut, thats for the last generation Jags....

We'll agree to differ on that.
