S Type Climate Problems
Discussion
Evening all,
Just wondering if anyone out ther has ever experienced problems with their climate control on their S type? The problem I've having is that the passanger zone obtains the desired temp., but the drivers side just pumps hot out!! Not being an expert in these (or any other) area, any advice you can offer would be very much appreciated.
Cheers........

Jagboy,
Funnily enough, I've just done a round trip from home in Surrey to Falmouth and I have experienced something similar: no heat unless I turn the control up to high then it's OK. Luckily I'm close to a service so I'll aim to get it sorted then. It'll be interesting to see the advice of others here.

Sounds like there is an issue with the driver's side blend door or blend door motor.Just wondering if anyone out ther has ever experienced problems with their climate control on their S type? I had a similar problem on mine,it turned out to be a broken wire to the heater valve (constantly open, needs a feed to close the valve),the valve is alongside the main rad and the easiest place to access the loom is the o/s fog light,if you remove the light there's a large connector, in the loom are two yellow wires (with a colour trace) and a brown wire,if you unplug the connector there should be 12v on the yellow wires and an earth on the brown, on the other side of the plug if it's given an earth to the brown and a feed to either of the yellow wires in turn you should hear the valve click, if it doesn't closely examine the wires and connector for any corrosion, mine was broken 6" up the loom due to the loom coming loose and chafing, the best repair is to solder a new piece of wire in to bridge the break or even the connector as it's position means it's soaked from road spray and a spade or but connector would soon fail.
