Hi all,

After a long spell in the wilderness, I've returned to my favourite make and have just purchased a 2004 XJR in Black with 20" alloys plus all the toys.

Had the car since last Friday and just like all Jaguars is very comfortable and makes you feel special as soon as you take a seat - but, and unlike my previous Jags; 'oh my god, does it go'. I knew it was fast from the test drive, however during a test drive with the salesperson in the car I never feel that brave to really push on, so it wasn't until I took delivery that I tried locking in 2nd gear and flooring it from about 30mph - fantastic or what!

Anyway, just wanted to say 'hello' and hope the tyres last a bit longer than I suspect they will!

Thanks - as for having a go, according to your profile you've got a Monaro, so perhaps I should be asking you biggrin !

Will post some pics when it's stopped raining !

Thanks - I was lucky enough to be able to afford a brand new XJS when I was 24 yrs old, and then had a Daimler some time after that. Had a few Lexus LS400's too, but nothing 'feels' like a Jag, does it?

Still getting used to the performance, slight tremor at 70 to 110mph - might be wheels need balancing, not sure. It's running on continental tyres - so would be interested in anyones feedback on whether they are the best ones for ride etc. or if I should look at any others when the ones on it need replacement.

Thanks
