Hello

Wondering if anyone knows about Trac DSC and can tell me how this differs technically from DSC - Jaguar's info is vague and the dealership is (of course) clueless!

Thank you smile

It has a driver selectable mode (hold traction control button down for 3 seconds) that allows more sideways slip before the DSC kicks in. Other than that it works like any other DSC using yaw and roll rate sensors to determine when and which brakes to apply to keep the car from skidding sideways.

And it's automatically selected when you engage dynamic mode (in the XF). The degree of permitted slip isn't that much smile

As stated above, It is the same as any DSC, EPS, VSC etc. system fitted to most modern vehicles.

It does not differ from DSC technically in anyway, all the same sensors and control units used. Only difference is a second setting, with a larger slip threshold before activation, is written into the control units software, this setting is selectable by the driver.

If you want to know how DSC works, I can go on for hours and give you a few links, but I didnt think that was what you wanted to know.

Thank you (apologies for late reply, been away!) - exactly what I wanted to know.

I'm curious about how the stiffness of suspension is determined - it definitely seems to have changed over time.
