X350 4.2 drivem - wow
Discussion
These things are realative and I've not been lucky enough to drive much exotic stuff, but today I got a brief ride in a X350 4.2, all I can say is: very impressed. Superb ride and my god it felt quick but in a totally competent and effortless way - not that I had any chance to explore it with the proud new owner sitting beside me and keeping an eye on everything like a hawk.
Still, massively impressed and much better than I thought. Drove home in my (3.2 litre) car and it felt a bit rough and slow in comparison, and uses more petrol.
On the down side - it has a plastic grill and grill surround, yuck. Plus for some reason cup holders. Never understood these in a UK car, surely you are not supposed to drive whilst drinking a coffee.
'driven' not drivem obviously - can you edit the post title?

These cars are amazing, as I and others have said on here a few times.
Another nice thing about them is the way the suspension firms up if you start cornering a little more aggressively. It's not good for track purposes as Fifth Gear demonstrated a couple of years back - for that you would need to take out the air suspension and put in something much harder - but in the real world its supreme.
