Seems reasonably priced to me. Check if its tidy underneath as the sills may well have started rotting at that age.

Depends on what it's worth to you of course.

If you're planning to buy it and run it 'till it drops then the fact it's registered really does not matter, just make sure you use that fact to get a good deal in the first place.

Far more important is the question of should you buy it at any price IMO. You'll only need the gearbox to fail or broken timing chains to more than wipe out any savings you may make by buying this one in preference to a more expensive example.

It's essential to buy the very best car you can find if you're seriously considering buying an older V8 Jaguar - in this area of the market price really should be secondary to condition and history IMO. It's far, far better to buy top money for a really good one with evidence of real care and lots of history than initially save a couple of grand and get stuck with a rough old dog that'll bleed you white and you'll never be able to get rid of because nobody wants to buy it.

Have a look on jagads, do some research on here - find Broardbean747s post - make sure whatever you buy has the gearbox and diff oil changed and is fitted with the latest metal bodied timing chain tensioners. That's the only reasonably safe way into cheaper Jaguar driving I'm afraid.

This sounds bad - it's not meant to do so - but if you can't stretch to a pristine one or are not prepared to spend a few hundred on a full fliud change once you've bought it then TBH there's a reasonable chance you'll quickly regret it.

had a look at the car, solid sills had welding about 2yrs back, had gearbox rebuild about 15k back and replacement engine with rebuilt timing chains etc etc all with receipts..few scuffs easy sorted tho wasnt certain on the ask price or what it would be its true value..its been purcheased now ..
