Following hot on the heals of Sunday Driver's post earlier this week, I picked up my XKR from Hadley Green this afternoon.

Drove it back round the M25 and A24 in pouring rain so I probably took things a little bit carefully, but first impressions are that it's a cracking car changing from pussy cat to a real fast feline when you want!

Pics to follow, as I thought a rain soaked car in fading light wouldn't do her justice. Needless to say I think she looks great in Ultimate Black with lowered sport tuned suspension and Vortex Alloys. Red Alcon brake callipers also add a nice touch!

Can't wait to see the proper pics. So what is the suspension like compared to the regular car? And is it adjustable? Has it got LED tail lights? Keyless entry?

Need details!

I had mine lovingly hand polished yesterday morning. Imagine my surprise when it started lashing it down yesterday evening. I actually had to traverse a lake exiting Canary Wharf via Westferry, there were fisherman at the side of the road and everything. Thought I was going to be pulled over by the National Rivers Authority at one point for not having an inland waterways license. When I got her home and undercover I just wanted to get her in front of the fire with a hot toddy. My missus has already dubbed her 'The Mistress'.

Sunday Driver - here's the first pic of the car - more to follow when I get the time to do some properly.

Car is absolutely great!

The sport tuned suspension and steering do make a notable differnce, ride is slightly harder but not massively so, unfortunately the up-graded suspension isn't adjustable. Really like the feel of the Alcon brakes too.

Still really, really, impressed by the B&W hi fi. Charcoal leather with ivory contrast stitch and mix of piano black and aluminium trim make the car a pleasnat place to be (almost too pleasant!).

The Ultimate Black paint is really nice too, although like most of the cars I viewed it does need some attention from a professional to banish some fine scratches and swirls - maybe i'm too demanding!!

Got a fairly long drive up to Reading from the South Coast tomorrow - looking forward to it already!

Oh, and yes, it does have keyless entry - bit of a showy gimmick rather than a necessity, but hey it's nice to have.

But it's not an XK-RS? Love those wheels with the Alcons. Wonder if they will offer them on the 5.0 XK's.

Sweet ride BTW. cloud9

Look forward to seeing more pics. I really like the contrast stitching, wish mine had it. But then don't get much chance to look at it when the horizon is looming up in a bit of a blur!

Ultimate Black is definitely the best colour (after Botanical Green, of course). I parked next to an Aston DBS (new one) today at work. I had to concede it did have the edge slightly on the looks front - which is what you would expect for nearly 3 times the list price.
