And this is what got dropped off.
  • pictures now removed as they identify the house*
I was intending on using it as a donor car to spruce up my old Daimler double six but i am having second thoughts!
The interior is nearly perfect, all the toys including power sunroof/seats/windows/mirrors are spot on.

She has been up and down the street here, and feels like a new car.

She has 110k on the clock and needs a few incidentals for the MOT. The cats will be removed as she failed the MOT on emissions and is not required to have them anyway!

£600. A bargain, no?

OH, and she has a new LPG conversion too!

that's incredible - do not break her if you can help it! How come you bought her unseen, where did you find her?

I was actually just trying to find a radiator for my daimler. A Jag mechanic i know had recently been offered this whole car but turned it down as he has too many already so he called the guy back and let me have it for what he paid! I figured i would get the radiator and strip the LPG kit, i had rather got the impression it was a snotter until i saw it!

The paint is by no means perfect, but it looks good from a few feet, in the dark smile

The annoying thing about this car is I have zero paperwork apart from the V5 and a receipt. Not ONE service receipt, no clue who did the LPG conversion should i have any problems etc etc. It is obvious the car has been loved, but the PO has sold up and buggered off abroad somewhere.

Having done a little research, it seems that a V12 LPG conversion is a VERY costly and fiddly bit of work, it is essentially two LPG systems running from one tank and would have cost approx £3k! At this point i can only assume it is working, it does seem to be OK. The bloody electric ariel has been snapped off though, he could have fixed that before he sold it :P

I am now considering taking the chrome bits off the Daimler and putting them on the jag, making it an unnoficial Daimler Double six. Bad idea?

Top car. I love the series 3 XJ, I had a 1979 XJ12 a while back, it was a beautiful car.

It's a reflection of the current fuel prices and the fact that people are still scraed of the V12 that you can still get these in decent condition so cheaply.

Well done!
