There has been an issue with the fluid used in the pumps, thickening and causing slow movement,
I think the only solution is to replace all of the fluid with new,
someone with a convert will probably clarify this ,

When I got my xk the hood was slow, there is a tap with a sort of t handle on the pump in the boot (see handbook) I tightend this tap and the hood is now much faster. the tap is to relaese the presure when the thpump packs up so you can raise the hood by hand.

suppose about 45 sec to open... on close it seems quicker until it gets to the latch then sometimes needs me to release the button and re push for it to latch on.. just a gut feel that its struggling from time to time thanks
