Replacing x308 XJR Discs Which type?
Discussion
My father in-law and I are changing the discs and pads on his XJR this weekend (front and rear). He is collecting the parts from Unipart today, when he ordered they asked him if it had Brembo or normal callipers.
He wasn't sure so they are getting both sets in for us to take away and check.
Is it as easy as different diameter discs/callipers with Brembo logos on or do you have to look at other things to tell the difference?
Also does anyone know of any good online guides (just incase there are any nasty surprises like special tools etc)
Just to summarise its a 1999 x308 XJR
Thanks

I'll have to get the ruler out and measure when he gets back with them
thanks for all the information. Also does anyone know if a warped
disc would bring up an engine check light?
It came on earlier in the week for a journey, no difference in performance but it disabled the cruise control

Just want to say thanks to everyone for the pointers.
The discs were the 325mm size, the three sets of rear pads we were given were all different to what was on the car. We took one of the old rear pads back to the shop and the closest match was a (front) pad that would fit a Vauxhall Corsa, Astra, Tigra, and a daewoo.
These pads were fine although we had to dispense of the silver brackets that sit inside the piston, all seems fine so far though with no vibration or squeaking.
Also the dreaded engine check light is back on, with cruise control working for some journeys and not others. Where can I get hold of one of these £20 code readers you were all talking about?
Thanks again

Warped disks will not bring up a CEL, get it read via an OBD II reader, you can pick a simple one from £20, better than paying more than that to get them read
