XKR Detailed

As my car is approaching it's 9th birthday I thought I would treat it to a good clean.
Those who have seen my car know that I try to keep it immaculate, even for a daily runner but the bodywork still had 9 years worth of polishing, road grime and environmental wear.

I took it to Paul at Racevaleting near Droxford who spent 19 hours on it.

Dave, It was £450 including engine bay detail and leather seat clean.

Bloody hell, that seems quite reasonable considering it's restored the car to looking like new. I might have to see if they can turn around my XJ after years of neglect...

I bet that gets some attention! The only thing I'd change if it were my car is the number plates to some without all the logos.

I have to ask... the airbox - who makes it, does it make any difference, and is is noisy?

How does that exhaust sound because it looks great, is it a rough throaty sound or a more deep smooth rumble?

Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh on the 1st Dave. It looks great in the pics but then we have a soft spot for your car anyway.

The airbox was supplied and fitted by Paramount Performance in Slough. The book says the extra airflow gives around 12 bhp extra. I cant tell if it makes any extra noise as the exhaust that I have fitted make a nice loud V8 gurgle.

The exhaust is the 'Grand Prix' system fitted by Racing Green near Fleet. It gives a real deep 'Throaty' gurgle. Good fun for setting off car alarms in multi story car parks......

Hi S...... See you on the 1st at Port Solent. I will give it a good clean weather permitting. (Or just take through the IMO )
