hi all ,x type 2.5 v6 4wd

Check the links in my profile. There is lots of help there (although the specific X-Type forum is down currently for some reason).
Otherwise check for transfer box/driveshaft whine and any oil leaks in those areas. Wheel alignment can go out due to the AWD, so check for uneven wear of the tyres, but this is a simple enough fix.
There can be some issues with the automatic gearbox, so check that feels slick. Most little problems can be fixed easily and the V6 is a dependable unit, so its mainly the drive train that needs checking. Probably missed some things out, so I hope others will come and comment too.
I have had my 3.0 Sport for over a year and its been great. Taken it around Europe, to the 'ring, Le Mans and many a PH run. I wanted something practical, with decent power but reasonable insurance that wasn't the typical hot hatch and with the 2nd hand values these are great buys. The looks can be divisive but its you who will be driving it!
Good luck with your search
