XKR steering rack tie bar

No bud, it's the bit that connects the track rod end and the steering rack. In some cases it is possible to change out this element of the rack instead of the whole thing. Not sure if this is the case with Jaguar.
Picked up a small amount of play on the drivers side and am loath to change out the whole rack for such a minor issue...

The part you are asking about cannot be bought from Jaguar only a complete rack, we have purchased them from here before: www.autosuppliers.co.uk/contact.html you will need the 8 digit (IIRC) number from the rack not the Jaguar part number for them to work out which one you need and the cost, around £40.00 last time we had one.
However if you have detected the play at the wheel and can see what looks like the inner tie bar joint moving? Before you go and order one drop the gaiter down to expose the inner balljoint and have someone rock the wheel to create the movement while checking the joint, 95% of the time the play will be visible in the rack shaft itself not the joint, people above will put you in contact with a good rack refurbisher this will cost around £280 dependent on model and parts required during refurb. Of course we can arrange this if you are near to Derby.

Many thanks for your response Dan. I have had all the gaiters back and inspected the joints. I have just changed out all ball joints, track rod ends and bushes etc (things were getting tired) and done the brakes (Bloody Brembos, it's the XKR400) all round and am really getting picky now.
