1992 XJ6 dodgy door locks

Anyone give me a clue whats up with my jag? The rear doors wont unlock, the buttons seem to jump like they are trying to unlock when i turn the key in the lock, work the drivers door button or hit the button on the dash, but it looks like they try to pop up to unlock and then just pop straight back down again.

As they are both doing it at the same time i'm assuming its not the actual doors or soloniods, more likely to be in the control system somewhere, anyone any idea?

I have discovered that if your quick you can catch the button before it goes back down and locks again, this unlocks the door and both inside and outside handles will open it, however the door will not lock again with the central locking, you have to manually push the button back down again.

If no one has any ideas i'll take them apart and see whats up in there.
