Aerial conversion for Jag XK

Hi

Just bought my 1st Jag, an 06 plate XK Love the look of the car apart from one small niggle.... that 1970's aeriel I've read somewhere there is a conversion to something more modern, but no links. Anyone able to advise please ?

I have done away with the old airial

As yet not getting such good reception but as I don't use the radio that much not too worried

I'm doing some more machanicle works at the momont so the radio/airial Mark2 version has gone on the back burner
I will be looking into that again in the new year

The later XK 08 on have the aerial integral to the rear spoiler. Should solve your problem but not cheap. You cant just buy the aerial you have to get the whole thing at £200+ then you will need the old hole blocked up and painted probably another £200.

Do you dislike it that much?

maybe somthing like the newer merc sl's have ?

would solve the problem of having to paint the rear wing to fill the hole

Can't see why folks get so fussed about the aerial. Yes, I guess it's a bit dated, but I've never had such good radio reception as I had than when I had my 57 XKR.

The problem I have with XK aerials is they are so tall makes the car look remote controlled.......not good!!!!

Sounds perfect.
Next time you get a ticket just tell them that it's remote controlled and so you didn't make it go that fast.
