Hi all - wondering if anyone could help with a slight issue?...
My MY2000 XJ8 is equipped with auto wipers and auto headlights - but neither seem to work
If I select the auto position for the lights, they just come on, regardless of the ambient light conditions (and I've tried the adjuster), while auto wipers don't work at all.
I'm guessing that they are linked and controlled by the large assembly behind the rear-view mirror?
I'm not overly fussed, as turning on the lights/wipers manually is hardly a chore, but I'd like to sort it if it isn't a huge cost...
Is there a fuse or relay hat I should check first? And where should I go from there if the fuse os ok?

Interesting question; I also have the same features on my XJ8 (2002) auto light work fine, but the auto wipers occaionally blow a fuse, so don't tend to use them now.
Yes, I'm sure you're right about the rear view mirror, it deems to hold the 'key' to both these issues.
I don't know the answer to your question, but think maybe there's an ecu involved somewhere that could be the answer.
Will have to consult my JTIS cd to see if I can trace the wiring.
