Chaps just been to look at a V8 Supercharged and I have a question that I hope you can answer the rear tyres were wearing at an alarming rate on the inside edges (one is worse than the other). Owner said that geometry was out and can be adjusted can it is it expensive etc

If it is just the toe in/out then easy

But could be the camber then you will have to have the half shafts shimmed, and the toe rechecked

We are talking S-type R right?

Camber caster adjustable all round with eccentric bolts. No need to re shim as with earier XJ and XK.

Toe is adjustable with track rods as per normal again front and rear.

Advise you get it done at either the main dealer or a know good body centre, the normal tyre fitters places might only be able to do the tow.

Expect to pay around £200

Worth checking if there are any worn bushes or ball joints that could be causing the wear first, you wouldnt want to pay to have the geo set and then have to do it all again when it fails an MOT on a ball joint for example.

As long as the boot isnt full of water there arnet too many problems with wires.

Sometimes the CAN network fails and you get and load of errors messeges. 99% of the time was a corroided wire behind the front bumper. I used to fix them in two or three hours. Some so called specialists were changing the body harness (not unlike reshelling a car) in two or three weeks.

S type R is a lovely car, if I could afford one I would consider it.
