Would this fit my XJ40?

No idea really, but wondered if i could fit an XJR super charger like this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1483778.htm to my 4.0 Sovereign and what else i'd need if so.

I think there are quite a lot of differences between the AJ16 engine from the XJR and the AJ6 in the XJ40. The compression ratio is also difference for the SC engine. It might be easier to find a complete XJR engine and gearbox and start from there.
