If it's in good nick then 3k wouldn't be unreasonable. £5K and I would be expecting something with lower mileage and mint or an XJR.

If it comes with a three year fully comp warranty, then maybe!

I bought my '98 XJR from this crew, travelled half the country for it too. It was the colour I wanted Sapphire Blue over Ivory Interior. It was low mileage at 50K.

I know I paid over the odds for it at £10200. I have to say I feel a little stitched up by them as the warranty they sold was rubbish and there have been a couple of issues that should have been put right at the service / PDI.

However I wanted the car and heart won over head.

Its sorted now though and it looks exclusive. (After sinking another £6k into it. Yes I'm not all there. I am not alone, I have the voices....

Would I go back ? No.

My dad picked up a mint Jan 2000 XJ8 3.2 sport, XJR lookalike with 18" alloys, 56K on the clock for £4.5K - 2 years ago!

Heart always rules head with these cars, doesn't it. If we all only used our heads when buying cars we'd all be driving Focus TDCI's.

I've noticed a lot of the so called Jaguar specalists tend to charge like wounded rhino's for what turn out to be very mediocre cars when you go and have a look. Some of the stone-rashed, shagged out crap I've seen on many a forecourt in the south east has been priced very close to an equivalent and much better condition car from a main dealer through the Jaguar Approved scheme.
