Seeing the thread about the manual gearbox for the XK got me thinking, is there a way to introduce flappy paddles to the steel bodied XK & XKR? I know the later aluminium XK has them with the same 4.2 engine, is the gearbox the same 6 speed unit in these? If so I guess it's down to how the electronics could work.

Seem to remember reading somewhere that Racing Green did something similar with buttons on the wheel, anyone got this fitted to their cars? Does it work well?

I have Racing Green's mark1 gearshift to mine

I'm realy pleased with it, still not the same as a manual but the next best thing

From what I have heard the mark2 is not quite so good, it doesn't hold the gears up and down the same

Thanks Norman. Does the button allow you to hold a gear until the rev limiter or will it still insist on changing up? Wonder if Racing Green have thought about paddles rather than steering wheel buttons.

The one I have will stay in the gear I chose ultill I change up or down, it will stay on the rev limiter all day untill I say so
I think their new one will take over from you.

Mine is buttons on the wheel, I chose one each on the front much to theit anger saying they should be on the back
They do now have a rear paddle, from what I've seen I don't like it, looks cheep
