New Wheels for the XJR
Discussion
Hi there,
Due to a couple of serious 'pothole incidents', I have replaced the wheels on my recently purchased XJR.
As there seemed to be only a very limited choice in terms of what would fit (particularly on a car with brembo calipers fitted), I decided on a set of "Coventry Hornet Alloys", which despite the slightly naff name; are made specifically to fit Jaguars. Not sure if they are made in the US, but thats where they were sourced from. I was a little concerned about the polished lip on the sliver finished wheel, but on the std 8.5 x 19" rim it is only small; and will not be difficult to maintain like some deep dish alloys can be.
The fit is excellent as I would have expected, and also they accept the standard Jaguar centre caps, so I bought a set of the older style logo which seem to suit the rims very well.
What do you think?
Scott

Looking great - they really suit the car IMO.
I would also be a bit worried about a polished lip. My Mustang wheels have a polished rim and despite religious cleaning (and never driving it on damp or salty roads) they have still pitted a small amount in places, although it doesn't spoil the appearance much. It's just not possible to keep them perfect unfortunately.
