Hot starting problem on S-type.

Hi folks.
My Dad owns a 2000 model 3.0 S-type out in sunny Spain, which has developed a hot starting problem The car runs great from cold, but as soon as there is any heat in the engine, the car stubbornly refuses to start again until it has cooled down, and with the ambient temperature as high as it is over there, this can take hours. The car tries to start and is turning over, but it completely refuses to start.
Any suggestions what could be causing this?
