Hi guys/gals,

I have just joined the Jag owners club having bought an 07 plate XK converible, after ownining a TVR Chimaera. What I miss is the companioship of being flashed and waved at by fellow TVR owners, now I have the Jag..... But hey we fellow XK8 and XK owners don't we deserve recognition from our fellow owners for having bucked the trend and chosen the GT Jag rather than a boring 4 door saloon?

Come on lets flash and acknowledge each other.....

Indeed not, one is now sophisticated. But to help remind you of TVR mateydom you could buy matching jumpers and have a teddy bear on the parcel shelf...?

OP, life in the Jaguar forums is very different from the Tiv section. The passion for their chosen marque is very much there and a little time reading through some of the threads bears this out. However, there is nothing refined about Tiv ownership (I own a 450 Chim and use it as an everyday car) compared to the Jags but in my experience (having had three Jags before the Tiv) the ownership of the supercharged Jaguar (in whatever form) will always turn heads and it makes one feel a little special (not special as in 'special needs' I might add!). I am now hunting for an XKR convertible but I know that I shall miss the obvious camaraderie of the Tiv massive as well as the aural pleasure that all Tiv owners love and all non Tiv owners desire. I am reliably informed (by an ex service manager for Jags now working for a TVR specialist) that the new stylie XKR is a truly awesome sportscar and handles better than most other similar cars. So enjoy and forget about the waving thing, it ain't gonna happen fella!

FYI, I believe Paramount Performance do upgrades for exhausts if the XKR doesn't give you enough aural pleasure! wink

I always get a friendly wave from other XK drivers and even from those new fangled E-Type people too. Most classic car drivers wave at my XK150.

Just sold my TVR and bought an XKR ....it must be that time of the year

So far, picked it up Friday and drove 270 miles home, absolutely stunning to look at and to put the power down. The motorway speed acceleration is just superb, the ride is good and yet stiff enough and best of all my daughter was able to come out with us today

i'd flash you
