I have a set of 20" Sepang alloys that I took off my XKR (Replaced with Detroits), but I don't know what to do with them, I tried selling them on eBay, but nobody wanted them!

I was being honest on the ad, which probably put people off, but the rear valves have corroded (so you can't screw the valve adapter on), so although the wheels are in 'normal' condition, with a few light scratches, some small corrosion around the centre caps, it looks like the previous owner had the stainless steel rims removed, probably kerb'd it and then didn't fancy spending a fortune replacing them!

So, I was thinking of getting them refurbished, putting some tyres on and selling them, problem being, it's probably not worth it money wise, unless anybody knows who either might be interested in taking them off my hands as-is, or can refurb them cheaply for me.

Also, was wondering whether I should refurb them in smoky grey instead of OEM silver, might decide I like them and keep them!!

Picture is here http://www.exactauto.co.uk/ebay/hiresall.jpg

Please, any ideas how I can recoup some of the massive money spent on buying brand new OEM Detroits, I told the missus I could offset the cost by selling these...and they're still sitting in the garage six months later.

You would be looking at £600 minimum to refurb them and thats if you do it yourself.

You can buy new valves from Jaguar, undo all the bolts the centre comes out, no need to remove the tyre, you can then take the wheels to any powder coaters/wheel refurbishment and they should only charge about £35 a wheel to do.

The trims cost £90 each from Ebay, bolt the lot back together, job done, if the tyres are good you should get a good £1250+ for them

The tyre's aren't any good, two cheap tyres on the front and two well worn pirellis on the rear, they're not going to get anybody very far.

Interesting about the valves, I phoned up my local dealer and they said they are not sold seperately, a new wheel will be £750 please, thankyou.
But I found somebody in Germany selling replacement valves on ebay for £15.

Well, thanks for the info, but sounds like there's no money in it for me refurbing them.

I am pretty sure they use to be sold seperately, maybe becuase they dont do the BBS wheels as standard anymore they stopped stocking them!

You dont have the link/name of the ebay guy, always handy to know such things

Cheers
