Last Daimler ?

Have Jaguar built the last Daimler ?
The new XJ does'nt seem to have a Daimler variant, so did the name die with the last Super V8 ?
Were they still being built along side the last X358 Jaguars , or were the Daimlers phased out earlier?

There was a Daimler version of the X358, called the Daimler Super Eight. None of the new range has identifiable names like Sovereign etc., which is a shame. Maybe there will be a Daimler version later - the Daimler version of the X350 came out some time after launch.

So the last Daimler X358 (and for now, the last Daimler Car)must have rolled out of the factory sometime last year, all done very quietly really - hope it's not the end of the marque.

Ah yes well you see I expect Daimler and Sovereign are associated with old fuddy-duddies, and HM The Queen, and what the kids really want is carbon fibre and brushed ally like, innit.
