X308 XJR value
Discussion
I have noticed these days that XjRs x308 vary from 3k-15k. this is great to see as decent ones are now well recognised. I currently have a 32k 200 plate with everything including sat nav, and it seems to be worth about 12-14 not that i'd ever sell it. Do People think this is gonna become a bit of a classic?
I doubt it. They are awesome cars but too complicated and it'll be the XK/XKR that become classics. While there are plenty of those around I just don't see it, not for a very long time anyway. But why worry about that? You have a lovely car which you enjoy, does it matter if it's a 'classic' or not? For what it's worth, I took my XJR down to a pistonheads sunday service at Rolls Royce and was directed to park in the 'special' car park outside the factory, so the cars are appreciated by those 'in the know'.
I think the X308 XJR will also make it as a classic in time. It's the last of the XJ styled XJs, where they were sleek and graceful.
(of course having the wrong number of cylinders they'll never be as good as the X300
)
As to value, well, as always something is worth what someone will pay for it. If you've got a really low mileage mint condition, one owner car. Then if someone is looking to fill out a collection it could well make well over the normal price. The difficulty is insurance value. Can you get the insurance company to give you agreed value insurance? Otherwise they'll probably value it at <£5K and you'll have one hell of a job trying to persuade their assessor (who won't know sod all about Jaguars and can't see what the difference is between XJ40 and an X308) to give it a decent figure.

There's only one XJ with the right number of cylinders - and that's the V12.Gassing Station | Jaguar | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
