We love our 05 x type estate, brilliant on fuel at 46 mpg around town, and she now has over 100k on the clock,
the integrated sat nav/entertainment system is excellent
and personally i would'nt buy an x type without this system, it also has the voice activated control system which is really good
on the downside, the engines are the ford lump which are a bit noisy, but no timing belts to worry about
all in all a good daily hack, definately recomend one, if you can stretch go for the 2.2 , not that the 2.0 is slugish or anything , just heard that the 2.2 a better engine
hope this helps >>andy

Hi, I have been running a 2.0 d SE estate since Jan 08 (new then). 83,000 miles and only issue was the ECU needed reprogramming due to a fault on start up for about 10 seconds or so. This was easily fixed. Thoroughly recommend the car and will get another in due course, preferably the 2.2 with the 6 speed box.
