Well after much deliberation I have bit the bullet.

Pick up 3.0D XF the first week in September. My first brand spanker!

Hope not to be on this forum too much for issues but only for praise! Silver / Dove. Didn't go for the premium sound system but er indoors wanted the rear camera.

Very nice. Hope you don't end up wishing you had gone for the S though smile

Lovely motor. I need to wait for the 2-door version though.

Do me a favour let me know if the steering wheel is ever so slightly turned to the left when going straight on, mine is and 4 others I have driven all have it and its doing my head in.

Its so slight that taking the wheel off and turning a notch totally overcompensates, and I cant believe 5 cars all have the same tracking fault

Its ruining it for me as it nags at me every time I drive it

oh - congrats on a superb motor - I like mine apart from the wheel, the useless front parking sensors and the lets race every day gearbox (but I still think its a great car)

My finance deal wouldn't stretch to the "S" ....this time...

I commented on two things on my test drive:
1) Steering light - but did not pull to the left - will check mine.
2) Brake pedal seemed just a bit higher than I expected it to be.

Liked the flappy paddle but novelty will most likely wear off.

Is the rear camera adjustable - not that I'd like to look up any girls skirts or anything.... ;-)

Liked the flappy paddle but novelty will most likely wear off. - It wont, the paddles are the only way you can accelerate without it dropping cogs, once Im on an open road and want to use torque I pull the right paddle and it stays in 6th

Is the rear camera adjustable - No, it has guide lines that makes it easy to park in lined bays as well

No, it was a chance comment made by someone in the know. It's already very well down the line and sales will start in 6 months.

Excellent!

Edit: But no test mules have been spotted, or have they?

They must exist, but no doubt they are left to pounding around MIRA

I'd imagine an estate would coincide with the facelift. Someone has already said that they won't be out until next year.

I had a look at these a few weeks ago. Definitely my next motor.

Such a wonderful car, very solid and I love the way they drive.

I took delivery of a XFS about a month ago and I absolutely love it... My steering wheel is perfectly set, ie no bias to the left as described above.

Hope you like yours as much as I do mine

A coupe, an estate are desperately needed to get Jaguar 'out there'. The range is too small, some derivatives would be awesome. They are coming....... Plus a new smaller entry level diese.

A coupe XJ would be my ultimate car at the mo. cloud9

I'm currently considering a car change and the XF is on my short list. At present i have a E60 525i M Sport which i have really enjoyed owning however i have had it two and a bit years which is provoking me to chop it in. I've been browsing the XF's and i really like them so far i reckon i want the 20" wheels (senta;s?) piano black wood, black leather, i'm not sure about the lump as i would have a petrol or a diesel, body colour silver, grey or black, ive not decided on new or used yet this will depend on what deal i can get.

A couple of questions are is the S spec much different, has anyone moved from an E60 to one of these?

I used to run an old style 520 and there is no comparison with the XF... The jag is a much better drive IMHO.

I have the 3.0 diesel S which is very punchy and also gets you sports leather seats which are very nice and spoiler amongst other things... Mine is black outside with warm charcoal interior and piano black and it looks the mutts...

I owned a Portfoio diesel S for the last year and really enjoyed it. Overall the car was excellent and I had no problems with it in 10k miles.

The only area in which it underperformed was in fuel consumption where I was well shy of the official figures.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one.

My Diesel S tracks straight and true, No probs at all, The big wheels do like to tramline though....

I too notice that the gearbox has a propensity to drop cogs- it just wants to race off at any opportunity. Have you tried sticking onto the "poor weather" setting? THe gearbox tends to upchange earlier and refuses to change down. It's good for long lazy cruises and helps with economy...
