Just a post to say hi. I have been lurking in the Jaguar forum for a couple of weeks and have found the posts very helpful. I have just aquired a 3.2 XJ8 (X308) which is in fantastic condition for a 98 MY car complete with replacement steel lined engine and updated throttle body, so just the Cam tensioners and gearbox oil change to do. Any one else from the Basingstoke area? Pic of new Jaguar below Carnival red I think? I have previously owned a XJS 3.6 manual a XJS V12 a Daimler Soverign series II a Jaguar XJ6 series II and 2 XJ40 sovereigns (last one pic below, so you might guess I am a dyed in the wool Jag enthusiast.

wavey Yep - oddly enough I've also just purchased a Carnival Red 3.2 XJ, mine is an X300 though. Will have to watch out for you!

Thanks for the welcome smile

Yes it is my everyday car, as I only do around 4,000 miles a year it's affordable to run. Obviously I need to do a bit of work on it to ensure it lasts me a while: Change gearbox oil, Waxoyl and new Cam chain tensioners. It has covered 117,000 so I am sure I have a few years left in her yet.
