XFR - want one, what is it like?
Discussion
Guys
Just had my M3 pinched and am thinking of replacing it with an XFR. Would you recommend that and what if any issues do I need to bear in mind?
Also any must have options?
Many thanks as I am sure this has been discussed many times but if any owners can spare me a few sentences that would be greatly appreciated.

After 14 months and 8k miles I'm still loving mine.
I've not driven an M3 so cannot compare - but the ride/handling/performance all still seem top notch to me. Performance is immense.
Lovely V8 noise - I am contemplating a sports exhaust to release more volume but don't want to spoil cruising refinement so still researching this
Only problems so far has been with a parking sensor and one electric window that would sometime bounce back down on closing - both easily fixed under warranty.
They are very well equipped as standard - only "must have" options in my view are the B&W hifi and parking pack which gives you a very useful rear camera.
Optional heated steering wheel is also nice in this weather!
Get one - you won't be disappointed.

Much as I am not the greatest fan of the dealership group.
The Stratstone XFR special edition looked pretty good today on a visit to the dealership.
As for reviews, Autocar and EVO did long term tests, search 'XFR' on their websites, also try tests on youtube. Comparisons tended to be made with the M5.
General feeling the XFR is more sophisiticated than the BMW.

Make sure you drive one a decent distance before committing, if your happy after a long test drive you will love it. Personally I find 1st gear to low, the gearbox always changes down not using torque, its a bit quiet, front tracking is very fragile get this checked AWAY from a dealer.
On the plus side, great hifi B&W, heated wheel is lush, electronics are trick (love the way the heated screens come on auto if its cold enough), seats are great. In spectrum blue mine gets loads of attention nearly as much as the DB9 I didnt expect that.
And its a bargain

had mine for six months and love it....though they still can't work out what's wrong with the bluetooth telephone problems!!! fastest thing with four wheels ever driven on the road. agree with all options mentioned (wouldn't bother with blind spot warning stuff!) Also on the look for sports exhaust so any pointers gratefully received (last time spoke to Spires they still hadn't finished it). had 911 before and rarely miss it. and they must be sub £40k by now!
