S Type R judder
Discussion
Afternoon...
Currently having some trouble with my STR, under braking i have some considerable juddering, it started from high speed but now happening at most speeds. I thought initially warped discs so replaced them, this solved the problem for a couple of weeks but it then came back.
My tyres needed replacing so got a full new set and while they were at it i sorted the tracking which they said was way out so could have contributed to the problem.
After new tyres i still had the problem so eventually bit the bullet and took it into a jaguar dealer who said i needed both front wishbones replacing, one immediatley and the other needing attention in the near future, i have had one replaced but still the problem exists and although i'm no mechanic the problem feels like a braking issue?
Any suggestions of what to look at would be appreciated.

This sounds similar to a problem some Monaros have had, and it isn't anything to do with suspension components or warped discs (although Vauxhall would simply claim it was warped discs, and change them under warranty).
IIRC the problem was the OE pads basically not working properly, and if heavy braking was used a few times, the pad material would not transfer to the disc evenly, resulting in juddering under braking.
Metallic compound pads were found to be the cure in the end.
