got an 09 XFR that I love. Except the non stop telephone/bluetooth problems that persist and the local dealer can't find the answer.

problem occurs occasionally not all the time (and not of course when the dealer tries it!). When I get an incoming call the preset volume goes upto deafening levels and when I try to accept the call it cuts off the caller and closes down the whole system; radio, satnav the lot. the b******y air vents even open and close! It then seems to reboot itself and the radio etc come back on. Phone is on the 'compatible list' and all contacts etc are synced. Dealer can't find the fault and I've even complained to Vodafone about my Blackberry Storm; they sent me a new phone which hasn't solved the problem. Driving me witless. Anyone got any ideas???

There might be a glitch in the phones software I had a phone that had a similar problem and It got sorted after I updated it to the latest level
Failing that it might be worth investing in a very cheap pay as you go phone and try that for a week or so just to see if it's the cars fault.

Blu tooth issues are 90% of the time the fault of the handset.

See if you can borrow a different handset and try with that for a week or so.

Somtimes even when a phone is on a compatability list, a slight change in firmware or somthing about the handset causes the car to have problems.

cheers guys; already replaced the phone with identical model (Blackberry Storm) so can't be specific phone; though maybe specific model with same problems/issues?? Dealer want me to leave car and phone with them for testing cos when i left car with them on previous occasions they've used their own phones with no probs. just a hassle cos I live on my blackberry but looks like there is no option!

I have seen this happen with a different set up, it was the compatible handset in the end, Nokia N95, every other handset that we tried worked fine. Good luck.

I have seen issues (not on a Jag tho!) where the massive number of contacts caused random failings in the bluetooth operation.

Had a similar issue with my X-type when my contacts were only on the sim card. Once I copied them into the phone memory & deleted them from the sim card the system worked fine.

cheers Guys some great feedback. I tried what someone in another forum suggested and turned off the 'caller announce' feature on the car. so far so good. However, only had the chance to use it briefly and as it sometimes seemed to work fine and other times not, i've reserving judgement for a while. but to reiterate; so far so good. turned off the caller announce and working fine now............
cheers!!

You may already know this but Alpine Electronics provide all of the OEM equipment for Jag (as far as I am aware). You may have more look running searches on Alpine forums, there will probably be more tekkies from alpine in those (I worked there for a short while).

Have you updated the software on your Blackberry? It may be new but that is no guarantee that it is running the latest software. Log onto the Blackberry website for details.

well disabling the 'caller announce' facility on the car's interface seems to have done the trick so far. syncing my bb daily usually prompts s/w updates so presuming that it is upto date from that perspective so looks like its the s/w on the car that is more likely to be the problem

Ive been plagued with connectivity problems with my 2010 XFS and my iPhone ... I recon it has to be the car and not the handset as its a problem across many different handsets (from the forums I've visited).

Nowadays the only way I can get my handset to connect is the open the car, get in, lock all the doors (which switches the main computer off), open the doors, and then start the car ... at which point the phone connects and springs to life...

Marvelous or what??? on the other hand my iPhone works perfectly in the wifes Smax

Toyota are now saying that IOS 4.1 can crash some of their cars sound systems.

Both ends of these links are just getting too damn smart for their own good.
