Jaguar X-type 2.0 Sport strange electrical problem....

Hi I have an 02 Jaguar x-type 2.0 Sport.

Sometimes it will start as normal but other times it wont. When it does eventually go lots of lights are flashing on the dash along with the clock in time with the light next to the traction switch car will start then no gauges on the dash are working. Then sometimes it will run fine and all gauges work.

There is some kind of buzzing for a few seconds around the steering column if this means anything..

Any idears this could drive me nuts..I have a video of all the light flashing if anyone can help.

A low battery voltage can do weird things like this. Might be due a new one.

a mate has/had same issue, it was his radio/phone/blue tooth staying on searching even if the car was locked up

his cure was a new radio unit, was not cheap
